Arizona State fans’ wild reaction to Aztec field games
Aztec Field games are not the only field-related entertainment you will encounter in the Arizona State football facility.
During a December game between Arizona State and Southern Utah, fans in the stands at the Rose Bowl threw their chairs in celebration of the field goals.
The fans had the chance to watch a number of field goals in the Rose Garden, but were left disappointed.
“We had a lot of people throw chairs,” said Brandon Odom, who had watched the game on his phone.
“It was pretty cool, but we could have watched the rest of the game.”
Odom said he felt like his team was outplayed by the Aggies.
“They have a lot more firepower,” he said.
“I think they were a little overmatched.
I think they did a good job of stopping us.”
The Aggies are hoping to avoid the same fate as the field games that turned into a riot last season.
The Aggie Athletic Association has promised that it will do everything in its power to make sure that there are no more riotous, unruly Aggie fans.
“Our goal is to avoid another riot like last year,” said Mark Cates, a spokesperson for the Arizona Athletics Department.
“As the athletic department, we have been working to address the issues that occurred last season, but as a community, we will continue to work together to make ASU the safest place to play college football.”
