‘I’m so tired’: ‘The only reason I came out’ for Ibbo and Ibbo-mania

JENNY WALLACE: This is an extraordinary thing to see.

It’s so different from what I would have imagined the night before, when we first met.

You’ve never seen anything like this before.

And I’m so glad I was there.

This is one of the most extraordinary things I’ve ever seen.

You don’t want to think about it too much, but this is a big moment in the history of the franchise.

And that’s the only reason why I came to see you today.

And the only thing I can say is that I’m very, very proud of you.

JENNETH MURPHY: You just did.

It was just amazing to see the reaction.

And it was just one of those things where I had the opportunity to really have someone’s back.

And you’re the one who helped make it possible.

And so I wanted to thank you.

I just want to thank everyone.

And also, for the people who worked with me.

I’m just going to go out there and be who I am.

And do my best.

I’ve been here 10 years, I’ve played my whole life.

And we all know that’s just how I am, I’m not going to change.

I want to be here.

And everybody is going to be rooting for me, so I just wanted to let everybody know, thank you for coming out and rooting for this team.

JON KASICH: That’s it.

JERRY BROWN: I just saw that video of you walking out on the court, and I just couldn’t stop watching it.

I couldn’t help myself.

I had a great feeling about this team and the people that are on it.

So that was just unbelievable.

And, I mean, I love this city.

And all the guys, and all the coaches, and everything is just so beautiful.

And then I had to get on the phone with my son, and then I was like, oh, this is just like when you’re playing basketball and it’s your dad.

And he was like: Mom, Dad.

And my son was like…

I don’t know what I was thinking.

He was like that.

I was just like, what’s going on?

And he just…

He was just really emotional about it.

And they had a huge hug for him.

And his mom was just so happy for him, and he was just…

And I just was just overwhelmed.

And when I walked out onto the court and they were hugging, I just knew that they were going to have a great season.

And with me being an emotional man, I wanted him to feel that.

And in his heart, he was happy for me to be there.

And of course, I know the family is all behind me, and they all know what they’re doing.

And obviously, the whole city is behind me.

And as far as the players, you know, I knew the players from the outside, and it was kind of nice to have someone in the locker room that you can go to and just see them and hear them talk about the future.

JANET PALLAGHER: It was amazing, I can’t say enough about it, but it’s like nothing I’ve seen before.

JOHNNY LEWIS: And it just kind of felt like home.

And to see that in the middle of all of that was very, really special.

I mean I couldn, like, get used to it.

But it was really a really, really, good feeling, you’re just in awe of it.

The people who have worked here for so long, and the fans, I think that we’re just, you just see the energy and love and enthusiasm.

And for me as a player, I was so excited to come here and see how much we’re going to get out of it, and what kind of player we’re gonna be, and see the impact that we can have.

And really, you can tell how much this city has meant to the players.

And how much, you never know, it’s going to mean to you and me and our families and our friends and everything else, too.

And people are just really, I don.

You know, you have to give them a lot of credit.

JESSICA BRENNAN: I’m absolutely blown away.

I literally went through the entire season, I went through my first full training camp, and when I started playing, I got called up.

And everyone was so happy and I thought, oh my God, I feel like I’m going to play, I have to do something to make the team.

And everything kind of clicked.

And this is my first time out.

And like, I thought it was gonna be hard.

I said, I gotta try to make this team
